100% SUSTAINABLE GARMENTS

Our entire Stanley Stella collection is fully sustainable, made from 100% organic cotton and recycled polyester and cotton, all certified by GOTS and GRS.  Their recycled polyester is sourced from post-consumer PET bottles, giving waste a second life.

In 2024, they launched an industry-wide decarbonization plan, a major initiative that unites the entire Stanley/Stella ecosystem around a common goal, to reduce our carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 across our entire value chain.

WASTE UNWASTED

Stanley Stella recycles cotton fabric cutting waste by shredding it into yarn and blending it 50/50 with new virgin organic fiber to create high-quality fabric. In 2024 alone, they recycled 226 tons of cotton. 

DID YOU KNOW?

A single non-organic cotton t-shirt requires on average 700 gallons of water to produce. Organic cotton uses 91% LESS water to produce due to healthier soil and less water pollution from run-offs.

In order for a cotton to be certified as organic, there are several tests it needs to pass:

 

  • The seeds used can only be non-genetically modified and grown without using toxic synthetic chemicals, pesticides, or fertilisers. 

  • The production reduces overall human, animal, and environmental impact. 

  • Safe working conditions, no child labour, and fair wages.

  • Production must protect water supplies and treat all waste water. Chlorine bleaches and chemicals commonly used in textile processing that can cause cancer, birth defects, and other serious illnesses are not allowed. *

*77 million non-organic cotton farmers suffer from acute pesticide poisoning, resulting in up to 20,000 deaths each year. Due to chemical exposure, the average life expectancy of a non-organic cotton farmer in India is mid 30's.
