Multicolour Uzbek Suzani Cushion Cover | Hand-Embroidered Silk Medallion | Central Asian Folk Art | 19×19"
Description
HANDMADE: LEAD TIME UP TO TWO WEEKS
There are cushions that sit quietly in a room, and there are cushions that hold the room together. This is the second kind.
The composition is built around a central diamond medallion — a form that appears across Uzbek, Anatolian, and broader Central Asian textile traditions as a symbol of protection and cosmic order. Here it's rendered in deep crimson, sky blue, ochre, sage, blush, and amber, all hand-stitched in silk thread on a silk-cotton blend ground. Around it: scrolling vines at the corners, fan-shaped florals at the cardinal points, a geometric stepped border in dusty blue and black. The eye lands in the centre and works outward, finding new detail each time.
The silk thread catches light in a way cotton simply doesn't. The surface shifts between matte and luminous depending on the angle, the time of day, the room. In person it reads as considerably more complex than any photograph can convey.
Natural dyes throughout — which means the colours have depth rather than brightness, and will develop a gentle patina with age. This is not a flaw. It's what separates a piece made with care from one made for convenience.

Styling notes
- The multicolour palette makes this the most versatile piece in the Suzani range — it pulls from almost any room's existing colours
- Works in contemporary, traditional, bohemian, and eclectic interiors equally
- Pairs well with the BoKa ivory and sage Suzani cushion for a tonal Uzbek pairing, or with the terracotta Moroccan Sabra for a more global edit
- Strong enough to be the only pattern in a neutral room
Care
- Dry clean strongly recommended — silk thread and natural dyes are sensitive to water
- If hand washing is necessary: cold water only, very mild soap, minimal agitation
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry
- Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight
- Do not iron — the silk embroidery surface is heat-sensitive
- Natural dye colours may soften gently over time — this is characteristic of the material
