There is a particular kind of craft that carries its place of origin in every thread. These coasters are woven in Rwanda by female artisans who hand-dye sisal and interlace it with sweetgrass — a fragrant, fast-growing grass that lends each piece a subtle natural sweetness you can almost smell through the weave.
At approximately four inches across, each coaster is small in scale but considered in every detail. The palette runs blue and white — clean, coastal, quietly graphic — making them as easy on a drinks tray as they are on a coffee table styled for effect.
No two are identical. That is the point.
