The snake has meant something for a very long time. Transformation. Renewal. The shedding of what no longer serves. Across Anatolia and the Mediterranean, it appears again and again — carved into stone, woven into textiles, painted onto vessels used in daily life.

This plate continues that tradition.

Hand-shaped from fine white ceramic clay and painted entirely by hand, it centres a coiled blue serpent on a warm cream ground — outlined with precision, filled with lavender-blue, dotted with white. Around it: a wreath of hand-painted botanical leaves in turquoise, then a wide cobalt border dense with white dot-work, finished at the rim with a rhythm of turquoise dashes. Gold lustre details catch the light throughout — not printed, not transferred. Applied by hand, fired in.

It works as a serving plate, a fruit bowl stand-in, or mounted on a wall where it reads as art. Most likely, you'll use it for all three.
